Razer's 2.1 sound system finally available

Razer has finally announced that its 2.1 sound system, branded Mako, will be available in January. It was about time since we heard about it and saw it a long time ago. The Razer Mako 2.1 is developed in cooperation with THX, and uses THX Ground Plane and THX Slot Speaker technologies.

Razer and THX overcame the problem of sound quality loss, which happens when you reflect the sound from a surface. The Razer Mako uses bi-amplified satellites with two channels of 50W with digital DSP control. Total system power of this sound system is 300 Watts. We wrote about the Mako during GC back in August, but back then, according to our sources, Razer planned the Mako 2.1 for pre-Christmas release.

The only bad thing about this sound system is that it will cost around US$400 or €400 in Europe, which is much more than most consumers would pay for a sound system; but good things sometimes cost a lot of money.
