Microsoft acquisition boss quits

by on10 January 2008

Bruce Jaffe to go

Bruce Jaffe,
who heads Microsoft's Acquisitions Department, is leaving the company. The company has not said why Jaffe, 43, is leaving, and he is not returning phone calls.

Jaffe, a Vice President and 12-year Microsoft veteran, will leave February 29th after completing the paperwork on the last of his deals. In the last two years he has negotiated more than 50 of them.

It seems that Microsoft wants to get away from a single person doing the acquisitions and make each department find deals to keep the $51 billion company nimble as it grows.

It is not clear whether Jaffe was happy about the change in policy.
