Abandons Windows

Hardware
maker Michael Dell has abandoned Microsoft on his laptop and runs the free Linux operating system Ubuntu 7.04.

Dell is running a version of Ubuntu which is scheduled for release today. He is also running the VMware Workstation 6 Beta, OpenOffice.org 2.2, Automatix2, Firefox 2.0.0.3 and Evolution Groupware 2.10.

In other words for all Dell's long term devotion to Microsoft, Dell is a true Denian open source enthusiast.

According to eWeek he is running all this on a Dell Precision M90. The company describes this as a mobile workstation.
