Years ago, Zalman released the ZM-MFC1 fan controller, which became very popular among enthusiast who like to have total control over their fans. At CES 2007 in Las Vegas, and now officially, Zalman thought it is time to make some changes and introduced their next generation of fan controller, the ZM-MFC2.
The old ZM-MFC1 is a great controller that supports six fans, but it didn't display any information on what are you controlling. But now everything changed with ZM-MFC2.
The ZM-MFC2 offers more then just fan controlling features, it comes with temperature monitoring and real-time power usage. It can control up to four fans, three standard 3-pin fans and one 4-pin PWM fan. Fans are controlled by RPM's and as Zalman claim it can be set from 1000 to 5940RPM's in units of 60. Only objection to this is that fans running over 3000RPM's are rare to none, and very loud. It can display four temperature readings between -9 °C and +99 °C. And for the Graphic power load meter, it can display power usage between 30 to 800W in 4 stages.
Zalman's new ZM-MFC2 looks really good and it has some impressive features, I sincerely hope that it is great successor to the old school famous ZM-MFC1. Price is yet to be announced.
