The Pavilion Elite m9000 series

HP has announced a new range of Pavilion PC's in the Elite m9000 series which features a series of high-end features for those that don't really care too much about games, but still wants a powerful PC.

There are models which will feature an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor, dual-format combo Blu-ray/HD DVD  drives, RAID mirrioring and backup to removable drives. A minimum of 500GB storage space comes as standard and so does 2GB of RAM.

Graphics power comes from a pretty basic GeForce 8400 GS card, but this should at least have enough power to help boost HD video playback.

The top of the case features what HP calls a "technology pad" which allows you to dock your digital camera, plug in your MP3 player and store portable devices. We're not quite sure exactly what it is, but it sounds like a USB port to us.

Other options includes wireless keyboard and mouse, remote controller and integrated Wi-Fi. Video editing also seems to be high up on the list of features of these systems with front mounted video inputs and card readers.
