Computex 07:
K9A2 Platinum ready for Phenom FX

MSI has a new board based on a new AMD chipset called 790X and this baby supports four PCIe slots and there is potentially enough space for four dual slot graphics cards. This will depend on your case, but this is not the cool feature.

This is a board that supports 1207+ CPUs and these are going to be the first desktop quad cores to come to market. AMD will call them Phenom FX while the codename for them is Agena FX. Agena FX, or K10 Phenom FX is scheduled for a Q3 announcement, so if all goes well you should be able to buy one before the end of September 2007.

MSI will have a board for you and as AMD doesn’t deal with DDR3 yet, the board supports DDR2 1066 or slower.
