MSI has officially announced its first 12.1-inch notebooks based on AMDs Puma platform, the PR211 and the PX210.

The first one is based on the PR210 design, and it uses ATI's RS780+SB700 chipset. It comes with ATI Radeon HD3200 integrated graphics in combination with AMD's Turion X2 Ultra Dual-core mobile processor. It comes with two DDR2 SO-DIMM slots which support up to 4GB of DDR2 667/800MHz memory.

Other noted specs include Gigabit LAN, optional Bluetooth, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, super-multi or Blu-ray drive and up to 320GB of hard drive space. It also comes with three USB ports, a 3-in-1 card reader and HDMI and D-Sub connectors. The PR211 comes with an 8-cell battery and weighs 1.8kg.

The second one packs a bit more power as it is based on ATI's RX781+SB700 chipset. This one will come with ATI Radeon HD 3450 with 256MB of GDDR3 memory. The rest of the specs are the same as on the PR211 model. Both of these models are coming with a 12.1-inch TFT screen capable of showing 1280x800 resolution.

Some of the MSI Puma based models are already listed, and the rest should start appearing soon.
