AOC has listed another gaming monitor stuffed with numbers large enough to distract buyers from the inevitable OLED anxiety.
According to Hardwareluxx the TPV Technology subsidiary has put the AG277QSD on its Chinese website, pairing a 26.5-inch tandem QD-OLED panel with 2,560 × 1,440 resolution and a maximum 320Hz refresh rate.
AOC is pushing its DarkShield coating, which is supposed to improve scratch resistance from 2H to 3H and reduce the reddish or purple tint QD-OLED panels can develop in bright rooms. Apparently, not ruining an expensive screen with normal daylight now qualifies as a feature.
The panel offers 10-bit colour, a claimed 0.03ms grey-to-grey response time and 1,500,000:1 contrast. Brightness is rated at 300 cd/m² across the full panel in SDR, 515 cd/m² at 10 per cent APL in HDR and 1,300 cd/m² at three per cent APL.
AOC claims full sRGB coverage and 99 per cent DCI-P3, with Delta-E below one in DCI-P3 mode. Pixel density comes to roughly 111ppi. The screen carries DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, giving the marketing department another badge to place somewhere near the enormous refresh-rate number.
Adaptive Sync is G-Sync compatible, while a separate motion-blur reduction mode is available for anyone who thinks 320Hz still leaves too much smearing. Picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes are included, along with an on-screen crosshair and a retractable headphone hook on the right-hand side.
Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 inputs, DisplayPort 1.4, a headphone output, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub with three Type-A ports and one Type-B connection. DisplayPort 2.1 is conspicuously absent.
The stand supports tilt, swivel, 150mm height adjustment and pivot operation.
AOC has not said when the AG277QSD will leave China, whether it will reach Germany or what it will cost. Hardwareluxx reckons the feature set points towards roughly €400 to €500.
