It's not every day that we come across something like a massive roundup
of 146 CPUs, so right off we truly have to salute the behardware.com
crew for their effort.
The site managed to compile and compare CPU benches from the past
couple of years, and it's a very interesting read. Starting with
Intel's 32nm 980X six-core, all the way down to to the likes of Intel's
ancient D805 and AMD's Athlon X2 3800, both 90nm parts.
It's quite an interesting read, as it allows punters to follow the
development and performance boosts attained through new manufacturing
processes and architectures. The roundup will surely come in handy for
anyone interested in upgrading or just checking out how old CPUs
measure up to new models. For example, my new CPU ranks among the top
15. As for the old one, well I'm a bit embarrassed to say where it ended up.
Be sure to check it out
here.
