Gigabyte and Biostar roll out Bay Trail-D boards

The first Bay Trail-D boards are finally starting to appear and they look promising, although there still aren’t any quad-core models out there.

Last month MSI launched its first Bay Trail-D board, based on a dual-core Celeron J1800 SoC and it is listed at €69, although it’s still not available in Europe. Gigabyte and Biostar are now joining the fun with their J1800 boards, with a very similar spec. The boards were unearthed by Fanlesstech

The Gigabyte J1800N-D2H has the same J1800 processor clocked at 2.41GHz, two DDR3L SO-DIMM slots, PCI Express x1 slot, mini PCI Express x1 slot, SATA 3Gbps and a single USB 3.0 port. Biostar’s J1800NH has one SO-DIMM slot, one PCI Express x1 slot, SATA 3Gbps and USB 3.0.

Both boards have gigabit Ethernet, VGA, HDMI, and four USB 2.0 ports each, along with a standard PS/2 port for ancient keyboards and mice. Best of all they are both passive.

There is still no word on the price, but they will probably end up close in the €60 to €70 range at launch.
