Three new motherboards

EVGA has announced three new motherboards based on Intel's Z77 and Z75 chipsets, the Z77 FTW, mini-ITX Z77 Stinger and the Z75 SLI motherboard.

The top of the line is obviously the Z77 FTW, featuring support for 4-Way SLI, dual 8-pin CPU power connectors, a 300 percent increase in gold content in CPU socket and angled 24-pin power connectors are just a couple of features that Z77 FTW has to brag about. As noted, the Z77 FTW is based on Intel's Z77 chipset and supports Intel socket 1155 CPUs, has four DIMM slots with support for up to 32GB of DDR3-2133+ memory, five PCI-Express x16/x8 slots with support for 4-way SLI and one PCI-Express x1 slot, six SATA 3Gbps and four SATA 6Gbps ports, integrated 8-channel audio, dual Gigabit Ethernet, Firewire, six USB 3.0 (two via header) and ten USB 2.0 (four via header) ports, and is based on EATX form factor with 304.8x263.5mm dimensions.

In addition to the Z77 FTW, EVGA also announced the mini-ITX Z77 Stinger based on the same Z77 chipset. This little beast squeezes enthusiast performance in mini-ITX format and is designed with an excellent board layout to accommodate large graphics cards, has robust overclocking features and native SATA 6Gbps and USB 3.0 ports, according to EVGA. The new Z77 Stinger will feature 7+1-phase VRM, on-board power, reset and clear CMOS buttons, on-board CPU temp monitor and EZ voltage read points. The rest of the specs include single PCI-Express x16 slot, two DIMM slots for up to 16GB of DDR3-2133+ memory, two SATA 6Gbps and two SATA 3Gbps ports, Bluetooth, six USB 3.0 ports (two via header) and a bunch of USB 2.0 ports.

The last but not the least is the new Z75 SLI, a mid-range motherboard based on Intel's Z75 chipset. The Z75 SLI features four DIMM memory slots with support for up to 32GB of DDR3-2133+ memory, three PCI-Express x16 slots in x16 or x8/x8/X4 mode and a single PCI-Express x1 slot, six SATA 3Gbps and four SATA 6Gbps ports, eight USB 2.0 (four via header) and four USB 3.0 ports (two via header). Unlike the high-end Z77 FTW, this one is based on ATX form factor, has single Gigabit Ethernet and generally has less features than the Z77 FTW but still features 7+1-phase VRM, on-board power, reset and clear CMOS buttons, on-board CPU temp monitor, POSCAP capacitors, EZ voltage read points and much more.

The Z77 FTW and Z75 SLI are currently listed at EVGA's site for US $309.99 and US $179.99, respectively, while the Z77 Stinger is still not available and will be launched at a later date. The European EVGA site lists both the Z77 FTW and the Z75 SLI for €329,90 and €199,99 but they are still just listed and are not available.
