Updated since Computex

Our friends over at TechPowerUp have scored loads of pictures of a new version of Foxconn's Renaissance X58 motherboard, and it seems like Foxconn wasn't happy with the design that was on show in Intel's booth during Computex back in June.

The most obvious change is the black PCB, which looks better than the red one that we saw back at Computex, but the slots have also had the once over, as the blue slots are not orange, and the teal memory slots are also orange, both an improvement.

Oddly enough, the chipset cooling doesn't look as finished on this board, as it did back at Computex and we're not sure why this is the case, but we'd expect the final product to get a similar cooling solution, if not a better one to the one we saw at Computex.

Some changes to the bottom of the board has also been done, as now the Renaissance has angled, edge-mounted, SATA connectors and it seems to have been give an additional pair of SATA ports. Gone is the Floppy connector as well as two of the USB headers and Foxconn has also added some better power and reset buttons.

Around the back a couple of extra USB ports have appeared, while the audio jacks are gone. It looks as if Foxconn has gone for an audio rise for this board, as seen on some other Foxconn models and you can clearly see the pins above the top x16 PCIe slot.

You can have a look at the pictures of the new board here and you can compare them to the picture we snapped at Computex here.
