65 nm chipset

DAAMIT's RS780 chipset, that will end up branded as Radeon 3200, actually has an RV610 core under the hood. This is a 65nm chipset and the RV610 fits perfectly under this tiny chipset.

ATI's chipset group is very happy with this achievement, and this is the main reason why Hybrid Crossfire aka Hybrid Graphics works with RV610 / RV620-based cores.

Radeon 2400 series are based on RV610, while Radeon 3450 and 3470 are based on the faster 55nm RV620 chip.

Phill Eisler, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of AMD’s chip division, and Reuven Soraya, the Director of Marketing, AMD chipset group, and their big team should be very happy with themselves.

Now we finally know why this chipset is so much faster than the previous IGP from AMD, and we heard more than once that AMD's 780G chipset will end up faster than Nvidia’s Geforce 8300 chipset.
