Foxconn
has announced two new motherboards based on the AMD 770 chipset in combination with DAAMIT's new SB700 Southbridge. The two new motherboards are branded A78AX-S and A78AX-K and will represent Foxconn's offer in the non-Crossfire mid-range market segment.

Both motherboards come with the same specs, support for AM2 and AM2+ processors, up to 4GB of DDR2 1066/800 memory, one x16 PCIe 2.0 slot, two PCIe x1 slots and three PCI slots.

The boards also have six SATAII and one IDE connector for storage, Gigabit LAN and 10 USB 2.0 ports. The only difference between these two motherboards is the integrated audio part, the A78AX-S will feature 7.1 channel HD audio, while the A78AX-K will be limited to 5.1 channel HD audio.

Both motherboards should be available in late February with a suggested retail price of around US$65.00.
