Something old with something new is a way to describe Nvidia's nForce 780i chipset. This "new" chipset will feature the same old 680i with the new NF200 chip, which should allow additional PCIe lanes.

The main feature of this new chipset is the "triple SLI" concept. As you can see from the picture below, Gigabyte's 780i motherboard will feature a modestly sized cooling system, six sATA ports, and four DDR2 memory slots for DDR2-1066. Let's not forget those three PCIe x16 slots that will bring the triple SLI to life.
As we wrote previously, Nvidia will want to tell the world that its 780i motherboard with TripleSLI will be the best gaming platform powered by a QX9650 at 3,000MHz and 12MB cache.
