Taiwan based Lanner Electronics has released the EM-9640, a mini-ITX embedded motherboard targeting passively cooled multimedia systems.


The board supports ultra low power AMD Geode NX processors, including the AMD Geode NX1500 @ 6W and the Geode NX 1750 @ 14W. The company claims that the EM-9640 can provide reliable performance for graphics intense digital signage and panel PC applications.


When integrated as a full system, draws less than 30 Watts of power. The board is based on the SIS741CX/964 chipset and supports dual independent displays with 3D graphics accelerations and onboard MPEG-2 decoder.

It has 5.1 audio a Gigabit networking port, four USB ports, four COM ports, parallel port, IRDA, a Mini-PCI slot and a CF slot to round off the range of add-on options for flexibility to fit the target application.
