While it was expected to launch at the MWC 2017 show, Huawei has already launched its new Honor 8 Lite smartphone in Europe, featuring a 5.2-inch FHD screen and Kirin 655 SoC.

The Honor 8 Lite was spotted for pre-order in Finland and Sweden and looks pretty much identical to the Honor 8, launched back in July last year. It features a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 screen with 2.5D curved glass and is powered by a Kirin 655 SoC, an octa-core part, with two quad-core Cortex-A53 cores and Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. The Kirin 655 SoC is paired up with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, expandable via microSD card slot.

The Honor 8 Lite also comes with a glass back and metal frame, just like the Honor 8, but does not come with a dual-camera but rather a single 12-megapixel one. It also features an 8-megapixel front camera, fingerprint sensor, and a 3,000mAh battery. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS with Huawei's won EMUI 5.0 interface.

Pictures of the Honor 8 Lite were leaked earlier, which suggested that the phone will be announced at the Mobile World Congress, but now it appears that it will be a hard launch, at least as far as Europe goes.

The smartphone was listed at €269 (around US $290) in Finland and it is expected to show up in other regions as well.
