Promising chipset at MWC

Sony has sent out the invites for the press conference at the Mobile World Congress and it is expected to launch a new version of Xperia X and Xperia XA. The Sony G3221 phone, which we expect to launch as the Xperia XA, features 16nm Helio P20.

The Helio P20 debut with Meizu M3X phone and this promising mainstream chipset brings the faster quad cluster of Cortex A53 chips to 2.3GHz while the power aware quad core cluster with four Cortex A53 ends up at 1.6GHz.

MediaTek added support for 2x LPDDR4(X) up to 1600MHz or 1x LPDDR3 up to 933MHz with a maximum memory size at 6GB for LPDDR4X and 4GB for the LPDDR3. The new ARM Mali-T880 MP2 runs at 900 MHz and promises faster GPU scores and camera performance.

Sony’s G3221 comes with 4GB memory, 64GB storage and has a 23-megapixel camera, and a 16-megapixel selfie cam matched with 1920x1080 screen. It is good to know that the new phone will launch with Android 7.0 out of the box.

Two phones from Sony are expected to launch at the Mobile World Congress.
