Xiaomi Mi4i wants to play havoc on mid-range market

I is for India, but it has global appeal

Xiaomi’s new Mi4i is supposedly designed for the Indian market, but the phone should have no trouble attracting consumers around the world.

The price stands at about $200, and you do get quite a lot for your money. The 5-inch phone sports a full HD display, Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 13-megapixel camera with two-tone flash.

Not bad, but the battery is even better – 3210mAh with the frugal Snapdragon octa-core should keep it going for up to two days. The Mi4i has dual SIM support and LTE is supported as well, obviously. While it’s not a flagship device, it’s the first Xiaomi phone to ship with Android 5.0 and MIUI 6 on top.

Unlike the Mi4, the “I” model features a plastic body and is available in white, black, yellow, cyan and pink. We reckon it looks lovely, and the price makes it look even better.
