LG G Watch R is probably the best looking Android Wear device on the market and many have been waiting for it. Now it is officially out and the company has shared an official German/Austria price with us. It will sell for €299 and will be in the shops in November. It is a little ironic that we can’t get a more precise time out of them.
The watch has a 1.3-inch OLED display watch with 320x320 resolution and completely round screen. Motorola's Moto 360 was missing a piece of screen and was not completely round. It is smaller than LG G Watch R. LG made the first completely round Android watch.
The LG G Watch R has 512MB RAM, 4 GB eMMC storage and 410 mAh battery. It just got the Android Wear 4.4W.2 Update making the software a bit more functional. The watch comes with some unique and well-designed watch faces.
You can choose any colour, so long as it is black and it comes with dirt and water IP67 certification. The LG G Watch R has 9-Axis (Gyro, Accelerometer, Compass), PPG (Heart rate monitor) and Barometer and the strap is changeable.
With 62 grams it is one gram lighter than LG G Watch W100. The round edition also has 10mAh bigger battery that increased in capacity from 400 mAh with first LG G Watch to 410 mAh with the round version. Qualcomms Snapdragon 400 with 1.2 GHz clock seems to be a popular choice among the first version watches and early reviews claims that the LG G Watch R has up to two days battery life, which is significantly better than the earlier Android Wear watches.
LG US warns that you should not operate the watch while driving, and we can agree with them, the watch can be distracting. It makes us wonder if the lawmakers will end up including the smartwatches to the do not drive and use list too.
