Kids give Apple phones the bends

by on30 September 2014

Film themselves bending them in a store

Two walking commercials for contraceptives have tested the iPhone 6 Plus by going into an Apple store and attempting to bend one and filming their efforts. One of the arguments that the Tame Apple Press has used about the strength of the phone is that it takes a lot of pressure to bend one.

The teenage boys, filming undercover, used such force that the smartphone’s screen popped out. They had to push it back in without attracting suspicion in the bustling shop. The pair fled because ‘they would have ended up paying for it’. The screen seemed to quickly detach from the aluminium casing which is something that so far few people have talked about.

Actually this appears to have spooked one of the kids who did not really expect it to fall to bits that easily. His accomplice has to tell him to ‘calm down, calm down, calm down’. They asked the Apple staff person if he believed that the iPhone 6 Plus bent and the staff said no.

Damaged iPhone 6 Pluses have been seen in shops, and some even managed to bend the smaller iPhone 6, which is allegedly less prone to the problem.
