Oppo officially unveils the Find 7 smartphone

5.5-inch QHD screen and Snapdragon 801 SoC

As expected, Oppo has finally and officially unveiled its newest flagship smartphone, the Oppo Find 7. Based around a 5.5-inch QHD 2560x1440 screen and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 SoC, the new Oppo Find 7 flagship will definitely be one of the more interesting smartphones on the market when it launches in May or June.

The new Oppo Find 7 flagship smartphone is based on Qualcomm's 2.5GHz clocked quad-core Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC chipset, the same one we have already seen in Samsung's Galaxy S5 smartphone. The quad-core CPU is paired up with an Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot.

As noted, the main feature of the new Oppo Find 7 is its 5.5-inch Super Screen 2.0 display with QHD 2560x1440 resolution which adds up to a pixel density of 538ppi. The screen features Touch-on-Lens technology and supports gloved and wet touch input. The display is placed behind Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

The Oppo Find 7 packs a 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 CMOS and F/2.0 lens rear main camera backed by a LED flash. The camera is capable of recording 4K video an 720p slow-motion clips at 120fps. The camera feature list include a Super Zoom mode which takes 10 photos and merge them in a single 50MP image. The video-calling is done by a front 5-megapixel camera.

The new flagship measures 152.6 x 75 x 9.2 mm and weighs 173 grams. The design is quite sleek and features a solid titanium-aluminum alloy frame which allows it to remain cool to the touch thanks to good thermal dispersion, according to Oppo. Below the 5.5-inch screen, Oppo has implemented the "Skyline Notification" bar which lights up on missed notifications with soft blue breathing light.

The rest of specifications and features include distance and light sensors, G-sensor, 4D Gyroscope, LTE support, USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, 5G WiFi 802.11bgn with WiFi direct and WiFi Display, GPS and NFC. Oppo decided to equip the new Find 7 with a 3000mAh battery with Rapid Charge technology.

According to Oppo, the QHD Find 7 is priced at 3,498 CNY, which is around US $565 and should be available in May or June. You can check out more here.
