4.3-incher with Snapdragon 400 chipset

After a string of rumors Samsung has now officially unveiled the new Galaxy S4 mini. Packing a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen and powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 400 chipset, the new Galaxy smartphone will certainly be one of the stars of the mid-range smartphone market.

Built around a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen with 960x540 resolution and 256ppi, the new Galaxy S4 mini measures 124.6x61.3x8.94mm and weighs 107g, which makes it a bit smaller and lighter but also thicker than the fully sized Galaxy S4. The heart of it is, once again, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 400 chipset with dual-core Krait CPU cores clocked at 1.7GHz and Adreno 305 GPU. The chipset also features 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot.

It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS complemented by Samsung's own TouchWiz skin and features WatchON app with IR blaster, S Health and Group Play feature, as well as Sound and Shot and Panorama modes for the camera. The rest of the features include an 8-megapixel rear camera as well as front 1.9-megapixel one for video calling, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 802.11 abgn dual-band Wi-Fi with DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi hotspot, LTE support as well as single- and dual-SIM 3G only versions for certain markets and a 1900mAh user-replaceable battery.

Unfortunately, Samsung did not shed any light on the availability date or the actual price for each models as it has to leave some information for the official unveiling on June 20th event.
