Samsung reportedly working on four Galaxy S4 Mini SKUs

by on25 March 2013

Dual-SIM and LTE variants expected

Samsung’s decision to flood the market with dozens of Galaxy phones every year seems to be paying off big time. It is hardly surprising then that it is also rolling out a mini version of the Galaxy S4, but unlike the S3 Mini, which was pretty disappointing, the new one might have a couple of selling points.

According to Unwired View, the S4 Mini will appear in four variants. There will be a standard, no fills SKU, a dual SIM variant, an LTE enabled variant and one SKU customized for China Mobile. Dual SIM phones are very popular in some parts of Asia, so the decision comes as no surprise. On the other hand, the LTE model could also end up quite interesting, as it is expected to feature a dual-core SoC clocked at 1.6GHz, which means there is a good chance it will sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4.

The Galaxy S4 Mini is said to feature a 4.3-inch 960x540 screen and it might attract consumers who find the flagship S4 a tad too pricey, or simply too big. Then again, since when is a 4.3-inch phone a “mini”? We didn’t get the memo.
