As many as 22 percent of Android users expressed interest in buying the new iPhone 5 in a recent survey carried out by techbargains.com.

The survey covered 1,300 consumers and unsurprisingly it revealed that Apple still leads the field in terms of brand loyalty. A whopping 74 percent of iPhone 4 users say they will upgrade to the new iPhone and as many as 10 percent of them are willing to wait in line on launch day. iPhone 4S users don’t appear to be as eager to upgrade and 64 percent plan to get the new iPhone, along with 71 percent of 3GS owners.

A total of 22 percent of Android phone users said they will pick up the new iPhone 5, along with 38 percent of BlackBerry owners and 32 percent of consumers who do not own a smartphone.

In terms of the feature wish list, 93 percent of consumers want better battery life, while 90 percent want a faster processor. 4G ranks third with 83 percent, while 76 percent of consumers want a bigger screen. MicroSD is on the wish list of 69 percent of smartphone shoppers.
