4.7-incher with Tegra 3

LG has finally shed some light on its new flagship smartphone, the Optimus 4X HD. The new Optimus is the clear successor to the Optimus 2X, LG's and first dual-core smartphone. Packing the Nvidia Tegra 3 4-PLUS-1 chip as Nvidia calls it these days and pairing it up with a 4.7-inch screen certainly makes this smartphone a true flagship.

The full specification list includes the Tegra 3 chip based on, what Nvidia now calls 4-PLUS-1 architecture, a 4.7-inch 1280x720 IPS touchscreen, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The new Optimus 4X HD smartphone also packs 8MP rear and 1.3MP front camera and a 2,150mAh battery, all packed in 8.9mm thick case.

The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS should be available out of the box, and LG will throw in a custom skin on top of it. The LG Optimus 4X HD should hit European shelves in Q2 this year. Italian site Telefonino.net managed to get a neat hands-on with the device and you can find it here.

The rest of details regarding the new LG Optimus 4X HD will be revealed just a few days from now, during MWC 2012 in Barcelona.
