Sales of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S II smartphone have passed the five million mark in just 85 days.

The company claims the new phone is selling better than its predecessor, which took 125 days to hit five million. Moreover, sales seem to be increasing at a healthy pace.

It’s worth noting that the Galaxy S II is still not available in the US, but it should appear in two to three weeks. The figures make the latest Galaxy one of the best selling high end Android handsets, despite its €449 price tag.
