iPhone gets proper facial recognition app

Retina and fingerprint ID on board

BI2 Technologies is offering a rather interesting iPhone app and add-on capable of facial, retina and fingerprint identification.

However, this is not merely a cheap toy-app, it is aimed at law enforcement professionals and it’s endorsed by the National Sheriffs’ Association.

Dubbed Moris 3, the system allows officers to use criminal justice data in the blink of an eye and ascertain whether the person on the other side of the lens is a decent, law abiding civilian or Lindsay Lohan.

The ruggedized iPhone case also doubles as a fingerprint reader and four LED lights, but more importantly it allows law enforcement to use off the shelf technology with the minimum of training.

Check it out here.
