The nüvifone M20

Considering how short time these two companies have been working together, it's no mean feat that they've already announced the second product to come out of the joint venture, namely the nüvifone M20 which runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with a custom skin.

Although we're not sold on the design, the nüvifone M20 has a solid feature set consisting of a 2.8in touch screen with 480x640 resolution, a 580MHz Qualcomm 7200A processor, 4 or 8GB of built in flash memory, a built in GPS 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, a 3Megapixel camera, 7.2Mbit HSDPA and 2Mbit HSUPA, an accelerometer and USB 2.0 for PC Sync.

On the software side of things you're looking at Garmin's navigation software, Opera for web access, the usual Windows Mobile software applications and something called Ciao! which is a location based service for social networking, yeah, we don't quite get it either.

The nüvifone M20 will be available with support for either 900/2100MHz 3G and 900/1800/1900MHz GSM, or 850/1900MHz 3G and 850/1800/1900MHz GSM (for the US market). The handset measures 95x52.5x12.8mm (HxWxD) and weighs in at 99g. Battery life is stated to be good for up to 3h talk time. Interestingly, the nüvifone M20 will be offered in four choices of colour, yellow, red, blue and black.

Finally the nüvifone M20 should be available sometime in the first half of this year and as always, no pricing was revealed.
