Cnet News reports that Microsoft told some of its partners that its Windows Mobile 7 smartphone OS will break some deadlines and won’t be here on time.

Windows Mobile 7 was previously announced for Q1 2009, but this new information suggests that Microsoft’s partners aren’t expecting it until 2H 2009.

Microsoft’s new platform should contain many improvements and new functions compared to the old versions. Microsoft put in some serious effort to improve this OS, listening to feedback and suggestions, and used it to polish it to perfection.

Windows Mobile 7 launchdate is as of yet unknown but we’re hoping that Microsoft will shed some light on this soon.
