Renames FreeSync 2 to FreeSync 2 HDR

AMD has released a new blog post talking about FreeSync 2 HDR technology as well as showing the upcoming Radeon FreeSync 2 HDR Oasis demo.

Comes with FreeSync 2 and DisplayHDR 400 support

AOC has unveiled its latest gaming monitor in the AGON-series, the 32-inch AOC AGON AG322QC4, which comes with a 31.5-inch 3-sided frameless VA-panel, 2560x1440 resolution and support for both AMD FreeSync 2 and DisplayHDR 400.

Both Xbox One S and Xbox One X

Microsoft said that its Xbox One S and Xbox One X will be getting AMD's FreeSync 2, a offering variable refresh rate over HDMI on supported displays.

With 3840x1080 resolution and AMD FreeSync 2

Samsung brought quite an interesting monitor to the Gamescom 2017 show which is currently heating up in Cologne, Germany, the 32:9 49-inch 3840x1080 CHG90 with support for AMD FreeSync 2 technology.

27- and 32-inch CHG70 and 49-inch CHG90

Samsung has jumped on the AMD FreeSync 2 bandwagon with a total of three monitors, the CHG70 series, which will be available in 27-inch and 32-inch versions and the massive 49-inch CHG90 series monitor.

Important part of the puzzle

Last week, Microsoft shared lots of information regarding its Project Scorpio but it appears that it left out some rather important details, like the fact that it will support both FreeSync 2 and HDMI 2.1 VRR.

Bringing smooth HDR to monitors

Just a few hours after the initial leak, AMD officially unveiled the new FreeSync 2 technology, that promises to improve performance and bring better compatibility to HDR monitors.
