Sticks to reference cooling

Our colleagues from Techpowerup.com have managed to score the first picture of the Diamond's HD 4870 XOC Premium Black edition graphics card which we wrote about earlier.

We have hoped that Diamond will use a non-reference cooling solution, but apparently that just won't be the case. The secret behind the high overclock is the unlocked custom made BIOS which can take this cards clocks high.

Apparently, the reference cooling is doing a good job in cooling the RV770XT GPU but on the other hand, when pushed to do high RPMs, the cooler tends to be "a bit noisy". The sticker design is great but that's just a question of someones taste, some might like it and some might not.

The price and the availability date is still unknown, but as we wrote earlier, due to the high interest, Diamond Multimedia will get this one to e-tail/retail.

This is how it looks.
