Remember Matrox? It's not often Matrox launches a new graphics card and now they've gone and launched a whole range of new products, namely the M-series of multi-display cards and they're as bold as to say that they have the "industry's first true QuadHead GPU."

It might very well be true, as we don't know of any other graphics card with native quad DVI support. However, it depends on which model, as most of the cards only support a pair of DVI displays.

The range consists of the M9120 PCIe x16 (US$259), M9125 PCIe x16 (US$399), M9120 Plus LP PCIe x16 (US$329), M9120 Plus LP PCIe x1 (US$329) and the M9140 LP PCIe x16 (US$599). Extra analog upgrade cables are available for US$99.

The M9120 has a pair of single-link DVI ports with support for resolutions of up to 1,920x1,200 via DVI or 2,048x1,536 via D-sub. The M9125 ups this to a pair of dual-link DVI ports with support for resolutions of up to 2,560 x 1,600 via DVI or 2,048x1,536 via D-sub.

The M9120 Plus LP is a low profile card with an LFH60 high-density connector which comes with a dongle, which adds a pair of single-link DVI ports and the card support for resolutions of up to 1,920x1,200 via DVI or 2,048x1,536 via D-sub. The M9120 Plus LP PCIe x1 is the same as the M9120 Plus LP, but with a PCIe x1 interface.

Finally, the M9140 LP has support for up to four DVI displays via a KX-20 high-density connector, although it's limited to four single-link DVI ports, which means it tops out at 1,920x1,200.

All of the cards have passive cooling and come with 512MB of DDR2 graphics memory and a 3-year warranty.
