Hydro Copper is back

EVGA has announced no less than five different versions of the GTX 280. As you have probably guessed, it all starts with the reference version and ends with the EVGA GTX 280 HC, the water-cooled card with EVGA's Hydro Copper 16 water block.

As mentioned, the first card works at reference clock, 602/1,296/2,214MHz (GPU/Shaders/Memory). The next one in line is the Superclocked version, which got overclocked to 621MHz for the core, 1,350MHz for the Shaders, and 2,268MHz for the 1GB of GDDR3 memory. The next one is EVGA's famous SSC edition, or Super Superclocked edition, that is overclocked to 648MHz for the core, 1,404MHz for the Shaders and 2,322MHz for the memory.

The fourth card is part of a series that EVGA has just recently started, the FTW edition. This card will be the highest clocked, reference-cooled card from EVGA. The card works at 670MHz for the core, 1,458MHz for the 240 processing cores and 2,430MHz for the same 1GB of GDDR3 memory.

The fifth and final card in EVGA's GTX 280 lineup is the Black Pearl, now known as the EVGA GTX 280 Hydro Copper. This is a water cooled card that works at the same clocks as the FTW Edition. We are almost certain that this card can go even higher when combined with a high-performance water cooling solution.

EVGA is also going to ship these cards with a special version of its EVGA Precision overclocking and monitoring tool, which is a nice addition. EVGA's Hydro Copper 16 water block for the GTX 280 and 260 cards is also available separately for $179.99. If you are wondering, EVGA's GTX 280 Hydro Copper card is currently listed and the price stands at a stunning €758.53, but this should be the fastest card that money can buy, for now.
