GeForce 9600GT OCX and 8800GT OCX

Just a few days after the announcement of the water-cooled 9800GTX, BFG has announced two more cards that will feature its ThermoIntelligence custom cooling. Factory overclock and custom cooling have always been something that BFG was good at.

Both the new 9600GT OCX and the 8800GT OCX will use the same dual-slot, nickle-plated cooler with integrated LEDs. BFG will certainly get a nice pat on the shoulder from Nvidia because of the green PCB in combination with the green LEDs, after all we are talking about the green team. The cooler is very similar to the one previously seen on Powercolor's PCS graphics card series, so this one also might be designed by Zerotherm.

Unlike the reference 9600GT which works at 650/1800/1625 MHz (GPU/Mem/Shaders), BFG's new 9600GT OCX works at 725MHz for the core, and comes with 512MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 1,950MHz, while the Shader clock was boosted to 1,850MHz. In spite of the overclock, BFG claims an 18°C lower temperature when compared to the reference card, thanks to the custom ThermoIntelligence cooler.

The 8800GT OCX works at 700MHz for the core and comes with 512MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 2,000MHz. The shader clock is overclocked to 1728MHz. It's a nice factory overclock if you consider that the reference card works at 600/1800/1500 MHz (GPU/Mem/Shaders). BFG claims that this card can be up to 30°C "colder" than the reference card.

Unfortunately, the price is still unknown, but these two cards should be available soon.
