Add more monitors via USB

Don't confuse DisplayLink with DisplayPort, as the only thing the two have in common is that they have something to do with computer graphics. DisplayLink is a company that specalizes in graphics via USB and so far we've seen monitors from both Samsung and LG and a few USB to D-sub and USB to DVI adapters from some rather obscure companies in Japan.

However, EVGA has just launched two new products that allow you to attach additional displays to your PC or Notebook via USB. The products in question are the UV Plus+ UV-12 and UV-16. The UV-12 supports resolutions of 1,280x1,024 or 1,440x900, while the UV-16 can do 1,600x1,200 or 1,680x1,050, which should cover most displays up to 22-inch widescreen models.

Both adapters are powered via the USB port, so there's no need for any additional power adapters and they're stackable if you want to use more than one extra display. Both models have a DVI port, but a DVI to D-sub adapter is provided as well as a carrying case. The only downside we can see is that there's no 64-bit driver support as of now, but hopefully this will come in the future.

The expected retail price is meant to be somewhere around US$100, but we're not sure if one model is cheaper than the other or not. EVGA is also running a competition here, where you have the chance to win one of 15 adapters.
