GeCube has announced yet another card in its HD 3800 series, the 2GB HD 3870. The new card is based on the well-known 55nm RV670 chip, which is paired with 2GB of GDDR3 memory.

The new card will work at 825MHz for the GPU and the mentioned 2GB of GDDR3 memory will end up clocked at 870MHz (1,740MHz effectively). The card comes with a 256-bit memory interface. As with every other HD 3870 on the market, this one also supports DirectX 10.1, Shader Model 4.1, PCI-Express 2.0 and ATI's CrossFireX.

The cooling is taken care of by Gecube's famous X-Turbo III cooler, which should be enough to keep this overclocked GPU temperatures at bay. According to the press release, the new card should be available soon, but the price tag is still unknown.
