The 55nm lineup

ATI has two
more Mobility Radeon SKUs, but for some reason it tends to stall their launch. The mid-range one is branded ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 and it is based on the M86. The M86 is nothing more than the RV635 in disguise and it should have really nice thermals, as it’s based on 55nm marchitecture.

There will be two low-end SKUs, the slower one called ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 and the faster one called ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3430. Both are based on the M82, which is again RV620, 55nm low-end desktop chip in disguise.

The good thing these days is that ATI makes its desktop GPUs as energy efficient and Powerplay is already a part of it, so it doesn’t take that much work to put these GPUs in the new notebook designs.

We expect to see many of the machines based on M82, M86 and M88 in later Q2, at the launch of Puma and Cantiga.
