On April 8th

Nvidia has given the red light to partners for the announcement of factory overclocked 9800GTX's. According to our sources these card should be launched on April 8th. We have already seen a few of them, but unlike Foxconn, some other partners have decided to pull them off their Websites.

The reference 9800GTX works at 675MHz for the core, 2.2GHz for 512MB of GDDR3 memory and 1,688MHz for the Shaders. As we could see from the Foxconn's 9800GTX Extreme edition, these cards can go all the way to 780MHz for the core and 2,360MHz for the memory. This is a massive overclock, and we might see some partners going even further than 780MHz, but we will be sure on the 8th of April.

Some of the cards are even listed, and the factory overclock also raises the price of the card. The most expensive 9800GTX is EVGA's 9800GTX SSC edition, which sells for €329.
