Our kind reader set us a link to Intel's FUD presentation about the importance of CPU over GPU.
Intel is right as for daily computing, Vista Premium Aero experience, converting music, photos and videos, rendering and encoding IGP is good enough and we agree.
Intel also says that for mainstream gaming of old games such as Unreal tournament 2004 Intel’s IGP is enough, but we disagree as Intel IGP is the worst thing that ever happened to computer graphics. Intel doesn’t have any drivers that can let you play anything at any decent rate and the rest is a fairy tale.
Chipzilla at least agrees that for playing Cryis and other high-end games you need a better graphics card. We can tell that Intel is right, as for most of the listed tasks you don’t need any graphics card; but for gaming you do. This fight will be a nasty one and it will be fun to watch.
