Radeon HD 3870 shortage in Taiwan, as well

Somewhat better for 8800 GT

Looking around the Taipei computer market, it seemed that most of the shops had at least a few 8800 GT cards in stock with prices ranging from about €176 to €192, depending on the brand. It seemed like the most commonly available cards were from Asus, Gigabyte and MSI, although some Leadtek cards were also on display.

The situation for the Radeon HD 3870 seems to be almost as bad as in Europe, as when asking around for cards only a single shop had one in stock; although it was quite keenly priced at €176, we are not sure what brand it was.

While asking around at some of the other small shops we were told that they didn't have any stock and they didn't know when they would have stock of the cards again.

There didn't seem to be any shortage of Radeon HD 3850 256MB cards, though, and these were retailing for around €135 and up. Hopefully, Fudo is right and this shortage will end in the near future, as we reported here.
