XFX has informed us that it plans to introduce a Geforce 8800 GT 256MB card and it will be available in standard and XXX edition, and this card should be priced at €149, excluding VAT. With taxes added it should retail for less than €199.

We don’t know when it will be available, but the sub €200 price tag sounds like a good deal. Yet again, we can see the problem with supply as its almost impossible to buy any 8800 GT 512MB at press time and it won’t be much better with 256MB cards as there is a huge shortage of chips.

XFX has decided to jump the gun with this announcement, as ATI should be introducing its 3870 and 3850 cards today.
