The same ol' G92

Just as we suspected, Nvidia will launch a "new mobile chip." It will be called
512MB Nvidia® GeForce™ Go 8800M GTX, and as you can suspect, it is based on G92; but this time the codename is NB8P, where NB stands for notebook.

We don’t know the specifications, but we do know that Nvidia should announce it in a few days, between the 15th and 19th, but we don’t know the fixed date.

The great thing about G92 /G80 architecture is that it has clusters, and in the current G92 only seven are enabled and we all know that there are eight of them. The G92 will run considerably hotter than the current 8700M based on a G84 and it will probably need better cooling.

We can thank our reader Adam for this one and we will try to get a machine based on this mobile marchitecture to give it a run. The machine is listed at Alienware's U.S. Website and it is branded as Area-51 m17X, and is powered with Athlon X2 and Nforce 590 chipset.
