Starting at €146

HD2900GT cards are finally in stock, if anyone really cares anymore. The prices start from as little as €146 for Sapphire's Radeon HD 2900 GT 256MB GDDR3, and cards from other partners are just a couple of euros pricier.

The HD2900GT comes with 256MB of GDDR3 memory running at 1600MHz, a 256 bit memory bus and 240 stream processors. The core is clocked at 600MHz. At these prices it seems like a good deal, but we still think it would be best to wait for the HD3850 to appear before making your mind up.

Several retailers in Germany and Austria are reporting that they have over 50 cards in stock already, while other retailers will have them in stock within the next couple of days. As we've said earlier, there won't be that many GT cards around, probably just a couple of shipments and that's it, so if you really think this is the card for you, don't wait too long.

At the moment the HD2900GT is a very interesting alternative to Geforce 8600 GTS cards, in spite of its numerous shortcomings.
