Updated: Out of stock in EU, U.K. and U.S.

We checked
the usual few vendors and we can tell you that Geforce 8800 GT is impossible to find. In Austria the card is nonexistent, as at least the top three players did not receive a single card. Austria is a small market, but we were surprised to see that both Overclockers and Scan do not have a single card in stock and the U.K. is a much bigger market.

To make the situation even worse, American top dog e-tailer, Newegg.com doesn’t have a single card in stock; this means that no one has these cards, or at least we haven't been able to find anyone who does.

Nvidia was upset when we wrote that this is a paper launch, but we can say that launching 20 to 50,000 cards with a lot of hype when the market demands at least few hundred thousand doesn’t make consumers or retailers happy.

Unless Nvidia gets a huge amount of these cards released into the market space people will be forced to go for RV670 based cards, as we learned that Dammit will be in volume production at launch. One ray of hope is that Germany has some cards in stock.

Updated: Our reader, Mike, has informed us that despite the fact that you cannot buy these cards at Newegg.com, you can buy them at Zipzoomfly here, Tiger Direct here and here and finally, at BestBuy here , but they all cost between US$279 to US$329.
