And only 256MB

We can confirm that the Radeon HD 2900 GT will have a 256-bit memory interface and 256MB of memory.

This all adds up, as by removing every other memory chip on a Radeon HD 2900 PCB, you end up with a 256-bit memory interface instead of a 512-bit one.

This has been done in the past and we didn't expect the GT to be as good as the Pro and AMD had to do something to make it cheaper.

The Radeon HD 2900 GT boards will also use GDDR3 memory, not GDDR4 as some of the higher-end Radeon HD 2900 cards or even some Radeon 2600 XT cards.
