New Avivo features and 24x AA

AMD has released the Catalyst 7.7 drivers and there's a lot of new features in this release. First of all AMD has added a wide range of new Avivio features, although some of them are limited to the new Radeon HD 2x00 series.

Most of the new Avivo features are also for Vista, but the most important addition seems to be the "Easy to use display scaling controls when outputting to display devices that support TV timings" as this should make it a lot easier to connect your graphics card to your TV set.

ATI has also added 12x and 24x AA for the Radeon HD 2900 XT and the Radeon HD 2600 cards. Apparently the new AA modes should bring enhanced AA quality to the new cards.

AMD has also improved the performance in certain Far Cry maps for the Radeon HD 2x00 series. There's of course also a whole range of bug fixes and again, most of them apply to Vista.

You can download the new 32-bit XP drivers here, the 32-bit Vista drivers here and the 64-bit Vista drivers here
