NVidia and AMD swing handbags at each other

by on27 June 2014

Like the old days

The handbags at dawn fight between the two queens of the graphics chip industry is getting nasty with both sides exchanging a few low blows.

Kotaku reported on the ongoing tensions between the two firms and quoted an Nvidia rep saying that if AMD spent as much time working on their drivers and actually making investments in gaming than they did talking about us, then maybe its customers would not be stuck with sub-par gaming experiences in today's cutting-edge titles.

Ohhhh get her!

AMD has released a list of games that it claims to have entered into development partnerships with including Battlefield: Hardline, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Civilization: Beyond Earth and Star Citizen. However Nvidia said that it would be impossible for it to maintain a current list of its GameWorks partnered titles because it's such a far-reaching program.

AMD’s Robert Hallock last month said Gameworks was a threat to gamers by deliberately crippling performance on AMD products to widen the margin in favour of Nvidia products. These claims were recently re-asserted by AMD's Richard Huddy in a MaximumPC podcast.

Spats between these two have been going on even before AMD bought ATi and no one ever wins. It just makes amusing reading for customers who normally don’t give a monkey’s.
