AMD rolls out Catalyst 14.6 RC driver

Performance improvements and Crossfire profiles

AMD has released its newest AMD Catalyst 14.6 Release Candidate (RC) GPU driver which brings performance improvements for a couple of games and benchmarks, as well as Crossfire profiles for few games, including Battlefield Hardline Beta.

The new AMD Catalyst 14.6 RC driver supports Radeon HD 5000, HD 6000, HD 7000, HD 8000, R5, R7 and R9 series desktop graphics cards as well as AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000, HD 6000, HD 6000M, HD 7000M and HD 8000M mobile GPUs and is currently available for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 in both 32-bit and 64-bit flavors.

According to the release notes provided by AMD, the new Catalyst 14.6 RC driver brings performance improvements for Plants vs. Zombies running on AMD Radeon R9 290X graphics cards as well as improvements for the 3DMark Sky Diver benchmark, including performance improvements on the AMD A4-6300 APU as well as enabled AMD Dual Graphics/AMD Crossfire support in the same benchmark.

The new AMD Catalyst 14.6 RC driver also brings AMD Crossfire profiles and Crossfire improvements for Grid Auto Sport, Watch Dogs, Battlefield Hardline Beta and Wildstar games.
