Nvidia market share slide confirmed by JPR

2.7 percent AIB drop in Q1
According to the latest figures out of Jon Peddie Research, Nvidia’s AIB market share dropped 2.7 percent since the fourth quarter of 2010.

Total AIB shipments increased by a meager 0.2 percent in Q1, for a total of 19.03 million graphics cards shipped in the quarter. The low growth was largely seasonal and it is still an improvement over Q1 2010.

However, things are not looking good for Nvidia, since AMD managed to increase its market share by 4.4 percent. The year-on-year results paint an even bleaker picture. AMD increased its share by 16.8 percent, while Nvidia lost 8.4 percent of market share.

JPR expects the global AIB market to hit $19.8 billion this year, or about 4.5 percent less than in 2010 due to lower average selling prices.
